Misha de Vries Primary School in Vught
Misha de Vries is a small-scale primary school in Vught, offering high-quality experiential education.
The school opened in October 2017, led by Magnolia Foundation and in close collaboration with one of Milan’s best-performing schools, the ‘Sacro Cuore’.
The children in grades 1-8 are taught in classes of up to 20 pupils each. Misha de Vries Primary School is a primary school on a general special basis. The school has a Catholic identity, a cultural profile and is internationally oriented.

For those who want the best for their child
Education inspectorate notes rapid decline in level of Dutch primary education, particularly at the field of language. Moreover, children find it less and less fun to go to school.
We have therefore founded a school that teaches at a high level, especially in language acquisition. Children enjoy going to our school.
How is that possible? Because of small classes, lots of personal attention, highly trained teachers and a good vision and methods. Because we offer children the best books, take the time to read them quietly with them, and reflect the topics in the other subjects as well.
Because we convey the subject of maths not as tricks, but as discovery.
By offering music, movement education and English by specialised teachers.

Our atmosphere

Misha de Vries primary school is small-scale. There are no more than 20 in each class, and no more than 100 children in the whole school.
Children know everyone at school, and all staff know all children personally. Each child gets the personal attention they like.
There is peace, cleanliness and regularity in the school. It is neat, beautiful and structured.
At the same time, there is space and time to do everything mindfully, to (learn to) be creative and to ask questions.
That’s why it’s nice here.

Medezeggenschapsraad en documenten
Onze MR
Iedere school, ook Misha de Vries, heeft een medezeggenschapsraad. Deze raad bestaat uit ouders en personeel van de school. Via de medezeggenschapsraad (MR) zijn ouders en personeel betrokken bij het schoolbeleid. Meepraten over verschillende onderwerpen is dan ook de rol van de MR. Voor een aantal onderwerpen moet de schoolleiding advies of instemming vragen aan de MR voordat een besluit genomen wordt.
De MR mag meepraten met de schoolleiding over verschillende onderwerpen die met school te maken hebben. Hierbij kun je denken aan schooltijden, personeelsbeleid, de jaarlijkse begroting en onderwijskundige plannen. De MR ontvang jaarlijks de begroting en beleidsdoelen van het schoolbestuur. Maar de MR kan ook zelf een initiatiefvoorstel schrijven om beleid te wijzigen. Daarbij kun je denken aan vernieuwing van het schoolplein of aandacht in het onderwijs voor bepaalde maatschappelijke onderwerpen.
De leden van de medezeggenschapsraad worden gekozen door alle ouders of het personeel van de school. Leden van de MR vertegenwoordigen daarmee hun eigen achterban. Op onze school zijn het twee ouders en twee personeelsleden. De twee personeelsleden vertegenwoordigen het gehele team en nemen punten van het team mee in de vergaderingen. De ouders vertegenwoordigen alle ouders van leerlingen op school. Als er zaken spelen, nemen zij deze mee in de vergaderingen. Magnolia Foundation is a primary education foundation based in Vught. Magnolia was founded in 2016, and has maintained a small but growing primary school since 2017, namely Misha de Vries; a school for general-special education with a Catholic identity. The mission of the foundation and school is to introduce children to reality as a whole, including its meaning, through primary education.
Magnolia Foundation is seeking three members for its Supervisory Board, two to replace and one to expand the Board, with the following profiles:
1) Educational profile You are an education specialist. You have proven experience in primary education as a director (school leader) and/or administrator in the past and have demonstrated a high level of quality awareness. This vacancy concerns an expansion of the Board.
2) Financial-economic profile Based on many years of relevant professional experience and a financial-economic background at HBO/WO level, you are familiar with all aspects of financial policy and management and with risk management. Partly for this reason, you are able to quickly familiarise yourself with the specific aspects of financing a primary education institution. If an audit committee is established, this member will serve as its intended chair. Affinity with primary education speaks for itself.
3) Legal profile. As an academically trained and experienced lawyer, you are able to assess legal risks well and think along with the director when it comes to agreements. You have an affinity with primary education and are familiar with primary education legislation or will quickly master it.
